Petar Petrov advances to fifth in the world

Petar Petrov of the Monster Energy Kawasaki MX2 Racing Team advanced to fifth in the FIM World MX2 Motocross Championship after finishing fifth overall in the GP of Patagonia at Neuquen.

The Bulgarian, a technical rider, did not immediately feel comfortable on the high-speed track in the foothills of the Andes, but in typical gritty style he knuckled down to the task in hand to eventually come away with his best overall result of the season, a result which has also lifted him one place in the series standings to fifth. The muscular rider started outside the top ten in each GP moto but battled relentlessly to finish sixth and eighth, a combination which gave him fifth overall for the weekend.

Vsevolod Brylyakov of Monster Energy DRT Kawasaki equalled his best result of the series so far as he put concern about domestic matters back home out of his mind to ride two error-free races to eighth and seventh for sixth overall in the GP. This also lifted him two places to eighth in the series standings. The young Russian also made his best starts of the season to travel confidently to Mexico for the fifth round of the series next weekend.
