Russo and Marino Ready for Second STK1000 Outing at Assen

The Pata Yamaha Official STK1000 Team heads to The Netherlands for the second instalment of the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup this week where Riccardo Russo and Florian Marino are both looking to capitalise on the positive performances shown throughout the opening race weekend of the season at Aragón last-time-out.

Russo’s goal is to improve further on his fourth place finish in Spain as the infamous Assen TT Circuit beckons. Having lead the way in much of the debut round’s practice sessions, the Italian is looking for more of the same at the ‘Cathedral of Speed’ and a strong finish to the 14-lap race.

Assen is a circuit Marino has seen success at in the past, having taken victory and a second place finish in both European Superstock 600 and World Supersport races in preceding years. His pole-capturing qualifying performance at Aragón proved the Frenchman had gelled with his YZF-R1M after his comeback from injury last season and the 22-year-old is determined to continue his development at the Dutch track with a convincing performance in Sunday’s contest – scheduled for 14:20 local time.
