Kawasaki won two of the five races at the famous Le Touquet Beach Race, contested by nearly 1800 riders in northern France, thanks to Matheo Miot (KX 85) and Yves Deudon (KX 500 1990).

Matheo and his younger brother Florian, both members of the Kawasaki VHR team, came to this final round of the French Sand Racing Series as leaders of their respective class after the first five rounds. On Sunday morning, a few hours before the main event, they raced on the French beach during the one hour youth race and Matheo, 14 years old, took the overall victory to gain his sixth consecutive win of the season and the title in the Cadet class (14 to 16 years old). Florian, two years younger, also got a strong result with a fourth overall, and thanks to three wins and three podiums this season in the ‘minime’ class (11 to 13 years old) he also claimed the national title. Both will now start training on hard pack, as they will enter the French Cadet championship on their KX85 Kawasakis. In the ‘vintage’ class, Yves Deudon claimed another win on is KX Kawasaki on Friday, and then got a top fifteen result in the main event.

Matheo Miot:
“I lost time soon after the start as I crashed and lost a couple of seconds, but then it was OK. I came back on the leader and passed him, then we had two pit stops and I was able to keep the lead until the finish line. I had fun riding here; I love sand but now we’ll focus on the motocross season as my goal is to clinch the French Cadet title.”
