MotoGP Rider, Aleix Espargaro to make appearance at Buriram

TEAM SUZUKI ECSTAR star rider, Aleix Espargaro will visit the final round of the 2015 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC), scheduled for December 3rd to 6th at Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand.

Espargaro will be visiting the SUZUKI ASIAN CHALLENGE (SAC), a new category in ARRC, racing on a single platform, the SUZUKI FU150. It is a rider development program in order to train young Asian riders to possibly race as a MotoGP rider in the future. 17 riders from 9 countries race in this inaugural season.

Espargaro will be present on Saturday, December 5th and Sunday, December 6th. He will be riding the SUZUKI FU150 in the warm-up lap on Sunday, as well as visiting Team KAGAYAMA SUZUKI Asia, the only SUZUKI team in the Supersports 600 category in ARRC. He will also be having coaching sessions with the SAC riders. There will also be a Press Conference, where all media members are welcome to attend. Detailed schedule of his visit will be announced on a later date.

■Aleix Espargaro | #41 TEAM SUZUKI ECSTAR
“I have the feeling that the experience in Thailand will be amazing, I will have the chance to meet many people that have already proved their affection for the SUZUKI brand and I am proud to be an ambassador. I will try to transfer the same enthusiasm we have in MotoGP to these riders, especially when I will meet the youngest ones. I’ve been reported that their passion for the motorsport is amazing, so I’m looking forward to meet them. For sure I will find a very warm welcome and it will be fun to see the races and the fights, of course the machines are very different from my GSX-RR but what moves our sport is passion, and it doesn’t matter what you race with. SUZUKI is doing a great job to give these young riders the opportunity to compete and grow, let’s hope to see one of them arrive to the World Championship one day.”

■Yukio Kagayama | General Manager, SUZUKI ASIAN CHALLENGE
“It is my utmost pleasure to welcome Aleix to Buriram. We started the SUZUKI ASIAN CHALLENGE this year, and his visit will be a great way to end the inaugural season. It will also mean a lot to our riders, as Aleix is the rider they are all aiming for to become in the future. I want to thank Aleix, Davide (Davide Brivio, Team Manager, TEAM SUZUKI ECSTAR), and SUZUKI for making this happen. I am convinced that this visit will be something the SAC riders will never forget in the future.”
